My Nighttime Natural HairCare Routine
Who else loves wearing their natural hair daily? I have embraced my natural hair, and I have finally mastered my hair. It’s crazy because I am a Licensed Cosmetologist and it has taken 4 big chops for me to finally figure out my hair. Natural hair is tricky! Figuring out the right products can be even tricker lol, and mixing the wrong products can leave you flaky. Flakes are a nightmare in itself, especially when you have to go to work the next day.
Besides that, I want to make your life easier by sharing what is working for me. I love wearing my natural, but I only like to wear organized controlled curls. I do not enjoy frizz, or wake up and go natural hair. Today, I want to share my nighttime routine with you.
Someone asked a question, that really made me think. She asked, “How do you maintain this style at night.” I answered back, “Wear a bonnet and pin the hair up like a pineapple to avoid smashing.” Although this does work, this is not really realistic for people who are active like me. It will not last. I usually workout out 4 to 5 days a week, and between sweat, and the shower the curls may not last. Now, what right?
Here is a step by step tutorial of what works for me at night, and I wake up with beautiful organized curls each and every day until I shampoo again. This can last for two weeks if you need. I usually shampoo my hair every seven days.
My everyday look…lately lol.
Steps:
- Section hair into 4 parts.
- Spray both Ms. Jessies Gloss So Good and Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner on each section before twisting.
- Twist each section and add a Bantu knot on the ends. Tip: Make sure each knot is going the same direction.
- Tip: Avoid over saturating the hair, a few mists will do.
- Sleep with a silk bonnet.
Here are some other images of this same style.
