Shingle That Hair- Featuring Miss Jessies Curly Meringue

By  |

After watching Black Panther, I am feeling some type of way lol.  Have you ever felt extra proud of your natural hair?  I know this movie did the most for me; I was like yaaaasssss!  I just went to see the movie on last night, but before I went I wanted to shingle my hair to create a really nice tight curl coil.  Not just nice and tight, but very organized as I love a polished look.

It is nothing like seeing natural hair, on a beautiful woman that is polished.  I just love seeing it!  I wanted to take a moment to share with you what I used to shingle my hair.  If you are wondering about shingling link to Ms. Jessie page to see.

I need you guys to know that this is not a quick look, it actually took me two hours.  I know right, you probably say “Oh no, I can’t do the two hours.”  But let me tell you it is all worth the two hours.  This look can last me for a few days depending on how rough you are and your activities 3 days this should wear well.

This look could last longer, it really just depends on how loose and organized you need your curls to be.  I like a fresh new looking coil lol-so extra though right lol.  I should mention that products are so important when creating looks on course hair; this look cannot be created using any type of product.

I want you to know that it doesn’t necessarily mean this product has to be used to achieve this look.  But if you are serious about how you want you curls to look you have my word if done correctly it should look the same way.

Here is a quick tutorial of how I accomplished this look.

  1. Cold wash the hair with a good conditioner to soften the hair.
  2. Apply generous amount of Miss Jessies Curly Meringue to each section of the hair.  To be specific apply a palm full of Curly Meringue to damp hair.
  3. For this look begin the shingling process, work from the bottom up.
  4. After shingling, dry the hair.  I sat under a hooded dryer for about 15 minutes.  It really set my hair well.

This product is great for: Fingerstyling, 2 Strand Twists, Spiral Rod Sets, Relaxed Hair seeking curly styling and Transitioners, Silkeners and Texturizers.
Great for: Wavy, Curly, Tight Curly, Kinky and Transitioners.

Please note for Kinky hair textures best to apply a base of Baby Buttercreme or Curly Buttercreme with this product for additional softness.

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
