Aloe Vera For Your Natural Hair

By  |

It is a known fact that Aloe vera has many great benefits, but have you ever used it in your hair?  Can it be applied directly to the hair, you may be wondering.  The answer is yes.  It can and should be applied directly to the hair because there are so many great benefits!

I have always thought of Aloe vera gel as a great product for healing chronic skin problems such as psoriasis, acne, and eczema.  I had no idea that Aloe vera could be used for hair.

My mom has a friend who decided to go natural, and when she did she mixed her own hair ingredients.  She mixed Argan oil, Aloe vera, and Black castor oil.

I knew the benefits of using Argan oil, and Black castor oil, but I never heard of Aloe vera gel being used in the hair.

Although Cosmetology is my background, I have never been one to mix my own products or create my own products.  I usually find a great natural product line that I like and stick with it.  So when my mom was telling me how amazing her friend hair felt, I was compelled to try it out.  I set out to find Aloe vera within a product to see if it really did work.

I found a product with Aloe vera in it among other things, but I didn’t really like the results because it flaked.  That fun adventure led me to Walmart today to buy some plain 100% pure Aloe vera to see if it worked alone.  And to my suprise, the Aloe Vera gel does work.

My hair feels moisturized soft, no crunchiness, flakes or anything!  The really cool thing about Aloe vera is that it is known to grow your hair!  I am on year 2 right now in my natural journey, and I am looking forward to next year growth!  In addition, it prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.

There are many benefits of using Aloe vera gel in the hair.  Aloe vera contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny- which explains why my hair feels so good!
