How To Make Your Skin Glow- Without the Shine
Do you long for beautiful, glowing healthy skin? I want to help you solve a problem that we have all struggled with from time to time. We all want our skin to glow, but mainly glow skin without the shine. Well to be honest, with makeup this is all a easy fix. Before we discuss how to create the glow, and lose the shine, let us go back to the basics.
Basics
Start with a great skincare regimen, always cleanse, tone, and moisturize. Remember to always do the most lol, use a great detox mask. Finally, always exfoliate at least once a week for smaller pores, and fewer blackheads. Remember your water intake at least 8 full glasses of water a day is great start. Get your sleep, at least 8 hours a night, which really helps with dark circles around your eyes for sure. For more information, check out 7 Natural Ways to Make Your Skin Shine like Gold. Glowing is Always In
Dewy, glowy, radiant, highlighted skin….It’s all over the gram, and FB Makeup Groups. It is a trend that is not going anywhere. IG girls are taking pictures as the sun goes down just to capture the best glow lol! This is the new modern beautiful skin, it seems the heavier the highlighter, the more the likes lol. Is it just me that notices the likes on heavy highlighter lol?
Naw- this trend is real- we are all heavily infatuated with glowing, dewy, heavily highlighted skin. Yes I said Naw lol. It is almost like, if there is no highlighter- there feels like something is missing. This trend is not new, as there is nothing new under the sun right. Well, it’s true- in this case there are just different ways of doing it- but truly it is not new. Without further due, here is the look:
Here is how the look is achieved.
Apply your favorite foundation, the foundation I used here is PUR minerals Liquid Veil the 4-in1 spray. Then use your favorite radiance highlighter-as you can see I used Melanie Mills Hollywood. I like it because it is more of a liquid, this can be used before you apply your foundation as well- this is just how I used it for this look. Melanie Mills Gleam is perfect because it can be all in one make up, moisturizer & glow for body and face. I just chose to use it to create the glow in my look here, but it can be used for so much more.
Use you hand to blend in the highlighter, or you may use your favorite brush. Either way that works for you is fine.
Next step is to use translucent powder. You may wonder why use translucent powder? It sets foundation for a sheer, invisible finish and has light-diffusing properties designed to help soften the appearance of imperfections for a skin-perfecting look. In addition it control the shine. For a professional finish, always set your face with your translucent powder. I used Laura Mercier powder here, and it really worked great.
How do you use this, you may be wondering? You just take a bit of it, and you dust it over your face, you have and option to bake for a few minutes, or not. In this case, I did not bake. For those wondering what baking is, it is where you leave your translucent powder on for a couple of minutes to set the face. When I use this powder, I feel it works great without baking too. Finally, after dusting it on, dust it off. It really is that simple.
