Product Review of Five 100 % Pure Organic Products

By  |

So many great things when it comes to wearing organic makeup.  You are probably even wondering why should you try them as opposed to wearing any of the other makeup brands.  Well, to highlight my last post here is a quick snapshot:

  • Eco Friendly- can you believe that some conventional products use petroleum which can rely on harsh chemicals.
  • No Harsh Chemicals- when I say harsh chemicals, I mean lead, and even sometimes aluminum…well, who wants this on their skin right? Allergic reactions are sometimes the case for sensitive skin.
  • Natural Fragrances- parabens which are also found in conventional makeup have been linked to cancers, and type II diabetes.
  • Nutrient-Rich-organic makeup tends to be rich in vitamins and antioxidants which is what our bodies need.
  • Protection from Premature Aging- studies have shown an overall improvement in the skin elasticity, and texture just from changing makeup products to organic.
  • Gentle on Your Skin-to sum it up, organic is healthier for you skin.  No more allergic reactions to ingredients, and who wants a disease right?  Nothing cute about that, and for me, if I can avoid all of the linked issues that comes with conventional makeup, I will.

To start, this is why I would rather use organic, cruelty free makeup brands right off.  But sometimes we feel compelled to try other options, but why?  First up let me introduce you to 100 percent pure 2nd skin foundation:

Why I love this foundation:

Let me start with it smells so good.  It has a minty, fresh scent that even makes you believe that it’s good for your skin, although it truly is.  A serum foundation formulated with olive, anti-aging antioxidants, pure fruit pigments and vitamins. It really delivers and adjustable coverage in most cases.  It really feels like a second skin, leaving you with a baby soft skin, so light and so fresh, and delivers amazing results for those of this skin color.

How to Use it:

Apply directly to your skin using your fingers or your favorite sponge.  I actually prefer using a makeup brush because I have to use a little extra for a full coverage application.

What I did not love:

They do not have a good skin match for my skin complexion, not in the 2nd skin foundation line, I tried the toffee and the toffee was way to light.  I tried to coffee, and to my dismay it was way too dark.  They need something in between, more so of a caramel which is what I normally wear.  They do have a color that matches but not in this line, it’s in the super fruits healthy foundation, and the color I use there is mousse which adjusts overtime and does blend well.

Here is a picture of me wearing the super fruits mousse foundation:

Next up: Luminous Primer with vitamins and antioxidants

What I love:

Well, everything about this serum is amazing.  It smells fresh, and feels so light on the skin leaving your skin with an immediate luminous glow with minimum application.  This can be applied with your fingers just like the foundation because of how light it is.  It fills in the pores, covers fine lines and wrinkles, and keeps the makeup application longer.  I noticed with it, that the makeup actually looks better the longer you wear it, ikr unbelievable…but so true.  I am wearing that in the picture as well. May I add that this product is silicone free, vitamin and antioxidant infused, and light reflective pigments diffuse flaws and illuminates for a healthy, glowing complexion.

How to use it:

Of course you always apply primer first, you can apply it however you like, but because it is so light you can use your fingers.  This product was used in the picture above as well.

Next up:  Naked II Palette

What I love about it:

It is beautiful, look at the colors so rich and long lasting.  It comes with such a great variety of colors it can be worn for a day or night look.  It also comes with a pinky pink which is a great addition for blush, or can be worn eye shadow too.  Get creative right! What I really loved is this palette can give anyone a naturally flattering look, it comes with a luminous highlighter, a blush and three eye shadows.  What makes this even better  is 100% natural formulas, are colored from the pigments of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and seeds. Gorgeous, naturally.

What I did not love:  no complaints here.

How to use: simply apply over the lid and remember to blend out your colors.  You may use the highlighter a brow highlight as well.

My favorite The Lips and Cheek Cranberry Pigmented Tint:

What I love about it:

Everything lol.  I am wearing this in the above picture as well, and this product tops it off for you.  Leaving you with a natural face, and looking so very healthy lol.  I used this on my lips, and I used the tint on my cheek for a healthy glow.  What is even better, 100% PURE formula was designed to be used as a cream blush and lip tint. Pure fruit pigments in a base of moisturizing shea and cocoa butters, for ultimate skin and lip softening. Highly concentrated with anti-aging vitamins and antioxidants.  So, so good for you.  My lips are soft and kissable here, no chaps and cracks and it looks so natural.  One of my best finds yet.

What didn’t I love:

No complaints, I actually love this product.

How to use:  Simple enough, apply on your lips, and take it and dot it on your cheek and use your finger to blend it out.

Semi-Matte lipsticks Sonora:

What I loved:

Very bright, and so very rich.  This bold color did the trick for this look for me.  It is good for many different skin tones, you just have to want to wear it lol.  Sonora, an orange red, semi-matte, opaque, & long-wearing lipstick. 100% PURE’s innovative all-natural formula ensures your lip color always looks vibrant, rich and full, never dry. Formulated with healthy fruit pigments and a nourishing blend of cocoa butter, shea butter and vitamin E to moisturize while providing intensely rich color.

What I didn’t like:  zero complaints as I love, love, love this color lol.

How to wear:  no need to exfoliate, this cocoa based lipstick does it all for you, just apply.

Natural pigments from fruits and vegetables sounds really nice. Blush, highlighter and three eyeshadows in one palette and that too organic is a great deal. I would love to try this palette. Great post!

These all look so great! Added bonus is that all of these products are cruelty free! I’ve recently made the switch to cruelty free products, and haven’t quite found any foundations or lipsticks in cruelty free brands that I wanted to try out yet. With foundation it’s so tricky to find one that isn’t too cake-y or heavy. The one you mentioned seemed perfect! I actually have a few 100% Pure product samples that I love, so hopefully the foundation and lipsticks will be great too. Thanks for the info and taking the time to try out the products!

The palette and the lipstick is what intrigued me the most, they look gorgeous. Thank you for touching on this point of what we actually put on out faces.
